End of Summer/ School Playlist

So summer is almost to an end... well at least for me. This summer was (to me) a time that I got to discover more music, and so I want to share some of that with you guys. I don't have playlists for them in my spotify/8tracks but I may end up doing sometime in the fall.

Summer Playlist- involves a lot of beach-y vibes, some dark vibes and otherwise just really good vibes for me

  1. High by the Beach- Lana del Rey. Because let's be honest, Lana always makes a great summer anthem (Summertime Sadness was a big hit last year)
  2. Dreams- Beck. I remember when everyone was questioning who he is, but now everyone should know because Dreams is such a cool tune.
  3. New Americana- Halsey. Badlands in general is just something worth listening to, the day Badlands came out I was freaking out, New Americana is just one of the many songs I listened to over the summer, but this one deserves to be in my summer playlist.
  4. Everyone's In- Lena Fayre. Anyone that was into Lorde back then will like Lena Fayre, believe it or not I came upon her music unexpectedly trying to find another song (which ended being on my music app, I was so disappointed). Anyways this doesn't have summerlike vibes but I listened to this song a ton.
  5. A-Punk -Vampire Weekend. This song just makes me want to dance a lot, so this deserves to be here honestly. Plus, Ezra Koenig is life goals. Major summer favorite
  6. Cry for Me- HUNNY. Also a part of my school playlist. Overall I discovered them because they will be performing at the Neighbourhood's concert that I'm going to and this song is so addicting. Definitely one of my favorite bands now.
  7. Blurryface- Twenty One Pilots. Any song in the blurryface album was definitely a part of my summer, I was jamming to that album 24/7, even managed to get my cousins into this music when I was vacationing.
There's a lot more but I'm going to move onto my School Playlist now.
School's a drag, but my music isnt- a playlist dedicated to music I will have on while I have free time or I'm working.
  1. R.I.P 2 My Youth- The Neighbourhood. Because school will be the end of my youth, no joke, with all the work going on, this song will describe my life to the fullest. (joking, just the fact that school is approaching makes me say r.i.p 2 my youth tbh)
  2. Hotline Bling- Drake. Because who doesn't love bumping to Drake on a school day??
  3. Beauty Behind the Madness- The Weeknd. Everyone's jam, especially mine, so I'll be listening to a lot of Abel during my school time. Overall, any song by the Weeknd will be an essential.
  4. #000000&#ffffff- The Neighbourhood. Mixtape vibes, and the fact that I'd have to wait until the 30th of October to get their newest album, WipedOut!.
  5. Blurryface- Twenty One Pilots. Because Twenty One Pilots. That is all.
  6. Badlands- Halsey. Halsey is my queen tbh
  7. Froot- Marina and the Diamonds. It's just a great album let's be real.
  8. Probably any album on my music app on my phone tbh, which is too many albums to put down here, but they're all rad af.
Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy my playlists and if you guys would like to see my playlists on spotify or 8tracks, please let me know and I might just do that! See you guys next time, bye!

Being Active

I am not an active person, I know that for a fact. I am probably the most laziest person ever. No joke. This school year is a year of change though. I am a senior in high school now yet I'm the laziest I've been in a long time. Believe it or not, as a kid I was always active. Yeah can you believe that? I used to be in a swimming class (which I didn't like), was on a recreational basketball, softball, and soccer team most of my childhood, and I played tennis. I'm still into soccer, but everything else I lost interest in. I tried playing soccer for high school but a major health issue got into the way leading to me being unfit and lazy right now.

All of that is about to change, I want to be an active person. I want to get back into my extreme love of playing soccer (although my playing is terrible now). This year I will be taking on the goals of eating healthy, drinking about 5 bottles of water a day (it's what my weight demands, as shown on plant nanny an app), and I will be doing blogilates. For those of you who don't know what blogilates is, it's a workout central where Cassey shows you workouts. I'm currently on the beginners workout plan but I think I just might stick to doing 30 day challenges repeatedly as my schedule is about to be packed for the next few months. BUT I'm going to try my hardest to stay on the beginner's workout plan until the end, hopefully in january I will able to share some progress with you guys!

Talk to you guys all next time, bye!

Film Fridays

I was writing in my journal and I was coming up with my layout plan for this blog, and I came across the fact that I'm so into movies. Correction: film, as it should be called. I don't know why but I feel like "best film of the year" sounds better than "best movie of the year" when they announce it on a commercial.

Anyways, I thought maybe I could talk about films that attract my attention. This month, I will talk about True Story, a dark film that had me glued to my seat.

As I was on a plane back home to New Jersey, I saw that I missed the first hour of True Story (been wanting to watch that movie since before it came out, but I forgot about it), so I wrote it down on my phone and decided to watch another film. When I got home, I watched True Story. It was inspiring and in fact, a true story.

James Franco portrayed the character Christian Longo. Jonah Hill plays New York Times' reporter Michael Finkel. Main point: Christian Longo is accused for killing his wife and 3 kids. Anyways ,Christian Longo is so inspired by Mike Finkel that he takes Finkel's identity, crazy right? Even crazier is that they meet and Mike feels a connection to Longo and it is Longo that lures Mike to write his side of the story. Longo creates this book to send to Mike called "Wrong Turns" which describes his dark life (which I am not going to describe, because spoilers), which immediately glued me to my seat. Something else was that Finkel's wife seemed to be so distraught by Longo's book that it made me start to wonder, what is going on in her head (like seriously, did they not want to show the dark side of Finkel's wife, because that would have been great). But above all times, the scene that hit me the hardest was during Longo's trial, when he ends his story by saying that "it's sort of like a double negative" or something like that, because Finkel taught him about double negatives during one of their meets. It blew my mind.

The following will have spoilers regarding the film. Now about the real story, back in 2001.  Christian does end up guilty for the killing of his wife and kids. Longo ended up being diagnosed with a narcissistic personality disorder. Explains his "Wrong Turns" book in the film. Also explains the way he acted during the trial. He also did actually use Mike Finkel's identity illegally when he escaped the country. Michael Finkel was a reporter who was fired for writing a report that was considered a lie. Hearing about someone taking his identity (Longo), he goes out to meet him and sees that Longo's a huge fan of his work.  Long story short, Longo is guilty and sentenced to death row. However, he and Finkel still communicate although he is on death row. Finkel later publishes the book, True Story and in 2009 Longo comes clean, saying he did murder his wife and kids. And that's all I have.

Thanks for reading this film friday edition, if you would like to know more about this True Story, watch the film, search it online, you'll find much more information. Also, sorry that this is all dark, but it was the most interesting documentary I've seen in years. See you guys next time.

July & August Photography

I think one of the greatest things about being a photographer is that you get to capture memories. Although I wasn't really considered a photographer until May of this year, my passion for photography has always been with me. Ever since I was small, I was always interested in the people that would take pictures at events. Instead of partying at one of my friend's 15th birthday, I was talking to the professional photographer all night long. Odd right? Yeah I know. Luckily, I was able to get a professional camera last year and get a job with photography in my school... the rest is history.

My love for taking photos led me to this idea. Why not post photos every month? Why not capture memories every month? I know billions of bloggers are huge photography bloggers, but I feel like posting my photos onto this blog will help showcase clearly who I am.

So without further ado... My photos of my summer vacation to Dominican Republic!

Hope you guys enjoy and talk to you guys next time!

New Start

I've tried to make a blog that will fit who my personality, but then I discovered that the blog that I made represented something I wanted to be, not what I am, nor will I ever be. So here I am recreating a new blog after removing all my other blogs from sight.

I'm Ambar and honestly, this is my third time creating a blog to fit who I am. I am a senior in high school. I have no idea what I want to do when I graduate but I'm living my life as best as I can until then.

Now I'd like to describe myself.  I get inspired by anything that has to deal with photography, film, music and art. I tend to be awkward around people. This blog's content will contain my innermost thoughts and my inspiration coming to life.

I hope you stick around. xx
