Reasons to Love Autumn.

This morning I woke up to a chilly morning with a cup of coffee in my hand as I was walking to my job. As I was walking I was like, "thank god I brought my sweater because it's chilly out." Then it hit me, autumn is literally right around the corner. Finally the summer heat is leaving us after a harsh 3 months. Anyway, everyone loves autumn. I don't think anyone could possibly hate this season. If you aren't a big fan of autumn, these reasons might get you to like it a bit more. And if you already love it, then here are reasons to love this wonderful season even more.

  1. MORNING. Mornings are always the best. The crisp air outside during the mornings literally wake me up. I love to wake up in the morning and walk to school with chill crisp air and the leaves being all around the floor. It's just so relaxing, while when it's hot or too cold, you're technically rushing to school to be in a better temperature environment.
  2. LEAVES. Pretty much the leaves are the coolest things ever. The colors that they change into are so pretty and way back then I remember racking them up and throwing them (sorta like a fall photo shoot you'd see on tumblr.) and it would look breath-taking, at least to me it did.
  3. CLOTHES. I cannot stress how happy I get when it starts getting chilly. Personally, I am not someone who likes to dress in short shorts and tank tops, I like to wear my jeans and cardigans. During autumn I get to dress up in darker colors and more layers which keep me cozy 24/7.
  4. CUDDLING WEATHER. For those of you who have a cuddle buddy (friend, significant other, parent, animal, etc), I think we all know how difficult it is to cuddle with someone without worrying about your sweating all the time. During the summer, if you cuddle with someone you begin to stick on them (like really stick on them). Me and my then boyfriend cuddled once during the spring/summer and we hated it so much because it was uncomfortable, during the autumn it was just much more nicer and less sweaty.
  5. FILMS AND MUSIC. I tend to watch too much film during autumn and it's just so easy to cuddle up in a blanket (or into someone's arms or vice-versa) and watch a movie. During this season, halloween movies are literally all I watch, like all the time, I'm actually starting the halloween movies in two weeks because I'm still adjusting to school. Also fall just gives off this vibe that people tend to match up to music playlists which I really love to listen to (mostly calm relaxing music).
  6. PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE. I've never had PSL but from what everyone says about it, it must be an essential.
  7. HALLOWEEN AND THANKSGIVING. HOW COULD I FORGET THESE TWO HOLIDAYS. Halloween is my favorite because of the trick-or-treating, movie nights, parties, and costumes. My costume this year is going to be really cool, and if you guys are true 90s kids, maybe you'll know who I'm going to be. Thanksgiving is my favorite too because of the Macy's Day Parade, The Dog Show afterwards, the food and most of all, giving thanks for all you have. That day is just a really nice day, until black friday the next day.
  8. SPORTS. Fútbol. (Soccer for the Americans). Hockey. Football. First of all, I am not a big fan of football, I am a huge fan of fútbol and hockey though. I am literally attending every game of fútbol (soccer) at my high school. However, if you guys are huge football fans, this is the time where you go out and attend the games, even I'm going to try to go to the football games at my high school since it's my last year. The excitement I have for fall sports is literally insane.
  9. SWEATERS. SWEATERS. HOT CHOCOLATE & SWEATERS. To describe a perfect fall day for me, it'll be me in a huge oversized sweater or something, some hot chocolate made, my favorite movie (Harry Potter) on my mac book screen, and a dark environment. Sweaters and hot chocolate to me (and maybe others) is a necessity for fall, I don't think I can stress this much. Plus come on, it's pretty self explanatory why they are necessities.
  10. EVERYTHING. Overall, what is there to hate about fall, all the bugs left yo.

Anyways I hope you guys liked my version of Reasons to Love Autumn (Fall), maybe I share some things in common with you guys when it comes to this. If there are any requests for my next posts, please leave them in the comment because I would appreciate it a lot. See you guys in my next post, bye!

Film Fridays

I was writing in my journal and I was coming up with my layout plan for this blog, and I came across the fact that I'm so into movies. Correction: film, as it should be called. I don't know why but I feel like "best film of the year" sounds better than "best movie of the year" when they announce it on a commercial.

Anyways, I thought maybe I could talk about films that attract my attention. This month, I will talk about True Story, a dark film that had me glued to my seat.

As I was on a plane back home to New Jersey, I saw that I missed the first hour of True Story (been wanting to watch that movie since before it came out, but I forgot about it), so I wrote it down on my phone and decided to watch another film. When I got home, I watched True Story. It was inspiring and in fact, a true story.

James Franco portrayed the character Christian Longo. Jonah Hill plays New York Times' reporter Michael Finkel. Main point: Christian Longo is accused for killing his wife and 3 kids. Anyways ,Christian Longo is so inspired by Mike Finkel that he takes Finkel's identity, crazy right? Even crazier is that they meet and Mike feels a connection to Longo and it is Longo that lures Mike to write his side of the story. Longo creates this book to send to Mike called "Wrong Turns" which describes his dark life (which I am not going to describe, because spoilers), which immediately glued me to my seat. Something else was that Finkel's wife seemed to be so distraught by Longo's book that it made me start to wonder, what is going on in her head (like seriously, did they not want to show the dark side of Finkel's wife, because that would have been great). But above all times, the scene that hit me the hardest was during Longo's trial, when he ends his story by saying that "it's sort of like a double negative" or something like that, because Finkel taught him about double negatives during one of their meets. It blew my mind.

The following will have spoilers regarding the film. Now about the real story, back in 2001.  Christian does end up guilty for the killing of his wife and kids. Longo ended up being diagnosed with a narcissistic personality disorder. Explains his "Wrong Turns" book in the film. Also explains the way he acted during the trial. He also did actually use Mike Finkel's identity illegally when he escaped the country. Michael Finkel was a reporter who was fired for writing a report that was considered a lie. Hearing about someone taking his identity (Longo), he goes out to meet him and sees that Longo's a huge fan of his work.  Long story short, Longo is guilty and sentenced to death row. However, he and Finkel still communicate although he is on death row. Finkel later publishes the book, True Story and in 2009 Longo comes clean, saying he did murder his wife and kids. And that's all I have.

Thanks for reading this film friday edition, if you would like to know more about this True Story, watch the film, search it online, you'll find much more information. Also, sorry that this is all dark, but it was the most interesting documentary I've seen in years. See you guys next time.
